Off to Mexico!

Hello!

I made a new blog! I've been wanting to make a new blog pretty much since my exchange blog became irrelevant (so for nearly two years now), and I finally feel as though I have a reason to make a blog. It is centered around travel (go figure).

I figured me announcing that I'm going abroad again would make a pretty prime first post on a travel blog. So as the title reads, I am going to Mexico, as I previously announced on Facebook. Here is the deal: I am a linguistics major at Western Washington University (for those that do not know my major), and as a part of the linguistics program, I need to choose a concentration. They have several to choose from: communication sciences and disorders, French, German, etc etc. I chose TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), because I knew that way, I'd be able to live my life pretty nomadically while teaching English abroad (with my ultimate goal being permanently relocating to Denmark).

The TESOL program at WWU has a faculty led study abroad program in Querétaro, Mexico, where I can finish my last nine TESOL credits, and simultaneously get experience teaching English to kids in a partner school we have down there. Teaching English will be a part of my practicum for TESOL certification. Querétaro is about three hours north of Mexico city. I will be there from July 20th to September 16th. I will live with a host family and one other WWU student. There will be Spanish lessons, so I will hopefully come out somewhat proficient in Spanish.

I will not be keeping a blog specifically on Mexico, but will probably post once or twice here (otherwise, what truly is the point of this new travel blog). I will most reliably post to Facebook. It will probably just be pictures of food, because I love Mexican food. There will in turn be little pictures of me, myself, because I will gain 15 pounds, and will be less inclined to show off my hot bod'.

So there's the story! I'm going abroad again! When am I ever actually home, though.
